Strathearn Houses for Sale - Edmonton

The Strathearn community is centrally located within the greater Bonnie Doon area and is one of the originally incorporated subdivisions of the region. This smaller residential section has a good location, with proximity to major roadways, public transportation, and the Central Station LRT stop to the west, but is still surrounded by preserve lands to the north and within the developed area.

Strathearn Community Amenities & Features:

While the initial division of Strathearn as a part of Edmonton occurred around 1912, further development of the land into residences and some local businesses did not happen until the mid 1900's. Thus, the street plan gas a very open grid layout that allows for large lots of municipal land to provide scenery and recreation.

Homes for sale in Strathearn are mainly single family residences, but some duplexes and town homes may also be fund closer to the border roads of the region. This section is very walk-able and is also well liked by families, as it has good educational facilities and much outdoor recreation with a safe living sector. Ecole Publique Gabrielle-Roy is the primary school for Strathearn, but nearby Edmonton Public Schools also have facilities for this community.

One of the biggest attractions for residents of Strathearn is the proximity to wilderness trails, river access, fishing, and grilling facilities along the banks of the Saskatchewan. Gallagher Park and Forest Heights Park both have paths and sporting fields. The Edmonton Queen Riverboat even launches from here, and this gives the chance for a pleasant day trip along the waterway, with dining and scenic vistas.
