Kirkness Houses for Sale - Edmonton
Part of northeast Edmonton’s Clareview area, Kirkness gets its name from James Kirkness, a Hudson’s Bay Company employee who came from Scotland and settled in Edmonton in 1866. Construction in the neighbourhood began in the 1970s but most residential development occurred in the 80s and consisted primarily of single-detached homes and low-rise apartment buildings. Duplexes and row houses are also fairly common with some residences being newer infill. Kirkness offers plenty of greenspace and outdoor recreation with Kirkness Park, spanning almost the community’s entire width, and James A. Christianson Park in the southwest.
