Century Park Community Amenities & Features:

The Century Park area is made up of many parks and preserve lands, as well as residences and businesses. With the creation of the Century Part LRT station, growth in this section has increased substantially over the last year alone. The station opened for service in 2010, and serves as a hub for travel as well as commerce, and the acknowledgement of Edmonton's culturally rich history. This is exhibited in the variety of art installations throughout the station, which focus on the idea of continuing traditions into the modern age.

The Century Park region also covers many preserves that were once native lands. In order to integrate that aspect of history as well, this area features heritage museums that celebrate tribal history and the Canadian westward expansion through trade and the rail lines. These aspects of the locale are a great source of community pride, and many of the community leagues host festivals and events throughout the year to engage residents in this part of the traditions of the region.

With a focus on access and transportation, the entire Century Park area has well managed local and city bus lines, as well as LRT services. This makes the location ideal for not only commuters, but for families and individuals who travel beyond the area. Easy connections to Edmonton International Airport allow for long term parking concerns to be avoided, and railway and bus travel hubs also connect residents with the rest of Canada.

While more than half of the people who live in the Century Park suburb do commute into the city, many residents also work locally. This includes small businesses within the community, as well as trades, agricultural and farming jobs, and factory or industrial work. Construction businesses are a major local employer, and this is also drawing new residents to Century Park as further expansion is expected to continue through at least the next decade.
